First exposure to the HP NonStop, or Tandem, environment came in 1986 after leaving university and being recruited to the Information Systems department at Equity & Law in High Wycombe. After initial training, a variety of roles were fulfilled including Training Supervisor, Senior Analyst/Programmer, Systems Programmer and Capacity & Performance Manager. Twelve years later, a merger with another company precipitated a change of employer. The broad range of experience gained on the platform must have been exactly what the new employer was looking for as an offer was made after only a 15 minute interview.
During the last 12 years the roles fulfilled have included Senior Technical Consultant, Technical Development Manager, Integrated Testing Manager, Product Innovation Technical Lead and, most recently, Lead Architect. Despite the titles, the managerial component of these roles has been minimal and the majority of the focus has been on technical aspects.
Extensive experience has been gained in a number of HP NonStop technologies and facilities.
